    As the Assistant Director of State and Federal Programs Compliance , your core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    State and Federal Programs Fiscal Support:

    • Works collaboratively to ensure compliance.
    • Ensure all schools can verify and confirm their students' eligibility for the Title I and 31A programs.
    • Ensure staff compliance with grant requirements, including certification and documentation.
    • Monitor to ensure the accuracy of all PAR/Certs.
    • Submit or coordinate the submission of all grants and grant amendments in Nexsys. This includes, but is not limited to, applications, certifications, reports, etc., in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Identify and assist schools in attaining Schoolwide Title I status, as appropriate.
    • Provide support for all MDE OFS On-Site Reviews.
    • Work to ensure all grant funding is integrated into relevant MICIP plans or partnership agreements.
    • Assure the entire grant planning process is coordinated with the Directors of School Finance and Model Directors of Education and Development.
    • Monitor and ensure school creation and maintenance of Title I parent involvement plans.
    • Ensure Policies and Procedures are up to date with current legislation.

    McKinney Vento/Homeless Support:

    • Monitor all schools' McKinney Vento Homeless Ed Programs.
    • Provide identified homeless liaison support with documentation and paperwork.
    • Ensure all Homeless Liaisons are certified through MDE's certification process.
    • Ensure policies and procedures are up to date with current legislation.

    Grant Management:

    • Submit or coordinate the timely and accurate submission of all grants and grant amendments in Nexsys. This includes, but is not limited to, applications, certifications, reports, etc.
    • Ensures that the grant processes are followed for proper communication of grants.
    • Supports finance managers with grant tracking.
    • Ensure all materials and technology bought with grants funds are in the asset management system.
    • Work with the Chief of School Finance and Operations Officer to review new grants and initiate the grant process.

    Other:

    • Consistently uphold and promote the organization's core values, serving as role models for ethical behavior and cultural alignment.
    • Serve as a valued member of the finance and operations team.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Chief of School Finance and Operations.

    Essential Skills and Competencies: While we will consider a broad range of backgrounds, the ideal candidate would have the following qualifications/experience:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University is required;
    • Knowledge of Consolidated application and funding systems and cycles.
    • Computer literate with a working knowledge of Nexsys and Federal and State funding.
    • Knowledgeable of emerging trends and developments in grant funding.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and adept at establishing and maintaining good rapport and working relationships at all organizational levels.
    • Highly organized; ability to meet stringent deadlines, prioritize work, operate in a fast-paced work environment, and coordinate projects; good time management.
    • Ability to independently use various forms of electronic communications (email, web, text, etc.); technologically independent, with effective use of Microsoft Office.
    • Valid Driver's License or ability to provide transportation to school locations or meetings.

    Desired Requirements:

    • Master's degree from a regionally accredited educational institution is preferred.
    • Ability to navigate the State and Federal grants network.

    Work Location: Flexible. The ideal candidate will be located in the Greater Grand Rapids area and can travel to our Central Office located at 5251 Clyde Park Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49509
