Assistant Campus Recreation Director administers and promotes all non-varsity, club (intramural) sports and wellness program. Plans and organizes campus-wide recreational programs for all students, faculty, and staff. Being an Assistant Campus Recreation Director may supervise student staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Assistant Campus Recreation Director typically reports to Campus Recreation Director. The Assistant Campus Recreation Director supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. The Chico Area Recreation and Park District is looking to hire enthusiastic and energetic LIFEGUARDS and SWIM INSTRUCTORS to join our Summer 2024 Aquatic's Team!
With the general guidance and direction of the Recreation Supervisor and/or the Recreation Coordinator, the Assistant Head Lifeguard will assist with the implementation and administration of the aquatics program. The Head Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and participants by maintaining control over the pool area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: May include, but are not limited to, the following:
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in an outdoor environment subject to weather conditions, sun exposure, and water exposure. Duties include exposure to recreation-related field noise or street noise. Travel in between sites within a 6 mile radius may be required.
