  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned


    • Serves as administrative leader of the school in the absence of the principal.
    • Analyzes standardized test data and assists the principal in developing plans for improvement of scores.
    • Stays abreast of current research in education.
    • Develops innovative ideas and concepts regarding professional growth and participates with staff.
    • Assists in selection and evaluation of teaching staff.
    • Develops the master teaching schedule and coordinates data input.
    • Supervises and/or coordinates supervision of students during school and at extra-curricular activities.
    • Assists the principal in developing short- and long-term plans.
    • Serves as administrative representative at student conferences and hearings.
    • Oversees staff attendance as it relates to substitute teachers.
    • Assists with management and upkeep of the school’s facilities.
    • Coordinates implementation of corporation-approved curriculum and enrollment of students.
    • Develops and maintains positive relationships with parents and the community.
    • Maintains cooperative liaison with the attendance district elementary and middle schools.
    • Completes other duties as assigned.
    • Maintains regular attendance.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Master’s degree in education; public-school experience.


    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Valid Indiana high school administrator’s license.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and manuals.
    • Ability to write proposals effectively to secure funds for the corporation.
    • Ability to present information and to respond to questions effectively from groups of administrators, teachers, school board members, parents, students, and the general public.
    • Ability to communicate using correct grammar.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to prepare, project, monitor, and revise multiple budgets.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to use available information and develop realistic long-term and short-term plans for curricular goals.
