Assistant Student Activities Director jobs in Des Moines, IA

Simpson College seeks a Director of Student Activities. This role provides leadership and management for a full range of campus and student activities, advises and mentors student leaders, supervises professional staff, and serves as a member of the Division of Student Development leadership team. Specific responsibilities will include:

• Advise student organizations, including Campus Activities Board
• Coordinate planning and implementation of campus programming and student events, including negotiating contracts with vendors/performers
• Manage departmental and student organization budgets and purchasing
• Supervise intramural, esports, and fraternity/sorority life professional staff
• Coordinate departmental and programmatic assessment activities

Qualifications include: excellent interpersonal and communication skills, intercultural competence, planning and organization skills, evidence of ability to work collaboratively with students and colleagues. Master’s degree in higher education/student affairs or related field strongly preferred; 5 years related professional experience expected.
