Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.   • The Dean of Students oversees discipline and security, as well as daily operations of the building. The Dean of Students coordinates student initiatives and activities as they relate to the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implements consistent strategies for managing students with the most challenging behaviors in a deterring and therapeutic manner that does not allow disruption of the norms of the school and the learning of other students.
    • Enforces code of conduct to maintains proper discipline and conduct.
    • Works with and assists the staff in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization.
    • Works with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing behavior expectations and concepts.
    • Works with Administration, Student Success Coordinator, and the Master Teacher to develop, implement, document, and monitor the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
    • Ensures high standards of achievement for all students.
    • Ensures an orderly, motivational, and aspirational culture and a strong school community where teaching, learning and healthy relationships can thrive.
    • Maintains good order and discipline among the pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
    • Performs all other job duties as assigned.

    Administrative Responsibilities:

    • Effectively creates and submits weekly/monthly reporting to supervisor.
    • Prepares required reports and paperwork such as discipline and suspension reports.
    • Assists the Director with student suspensions and expulsions.
    • Maintains confidentiality concerning all student and staff information and in all professional matters.
    • Adheres to the appropriate code of ethics and student confidentiality.

    Education Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree or possess relevant experience as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the School Director and/or Oakmont Education Group.

    Experience preferred:

    • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with students preferred.
    • Experience with MTSS, student behavioral intervention, restorative justice, student mediation, and parent engagement.

    Working Conditions:

    This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The employee may be required to deal with students with behavioral risks and challenging parents at times.
