Associate Dean of Medicine assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of medicine. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Medicine provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Medicine typically reports to a Dean. SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The dean provides leadership for the academic programs in the Kelley College of Business & Professional Studies and supervises 14 full-time faculty and a half-dozen adjuncts. The College offers bachelor’s degrees in the business fields of Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing. Its Irvin School of Education offers Bachelor’s Degrees in Human Services Administration and in the teacher certification fields of Interdisciplinary Generalist, Early Childhood to Grade 6, and 17 fields in the Arts & Sciences. It offers the Master of Business Administration, Generalist, the Master of Business Administration in Sport Business, and the Master of Arts in Management. Leadership is needed in the form of planning, development, and implementation of all academic programs within the College. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and to be able to work closely with other deans and university administrators. The dean is responsible for the preparation of comprehensive annual reports for the HSU Board of Trustees and accrediting agencies. The dean will work with foundations, organizations, and donors of the College to promote growth of endowment and support. Active participation in state and national professional organizations is encouraged.
