Associate Dean of Medicine assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of medicine. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Medicine provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Medicine typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing and Professional Education manages the administrative functions of Clarkson’s professional graduate degree and certificate programs; as well as Clarkson’s microcredentials program and other continuing education programs for working adults.
● Promote, lead and manage all aspects of day-to-day operations associated with professional graduate and continuing education programs, including the selection, training, and supervision of staff and student employees.● Manage the fiscal and contractual elements of professional graduate and continuing education programs; including operations, budget management, contract negotiation/approval, and logistics planning and management.● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build and nurture external relationships with employers, community organizations, and economic development agencies in the region. Serve as the institutional liaison to a variety of career and workforce training agencies. ● Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative programs that support lifelong learning.● Evaluate professional graduate and continuing education program needs based on information from business and industry partners and collaborate on the development of new programs and offerings.● Research and secure additional clients, partners, contracts, and other revenue sources to ensure long term program sustainability. ● Identify and respond to grant opportunities in support of workforce development and community programs. ● Conduct ongoing market research in order to make strategic recommendations to improve existing programs and expand into new programs and new geographic markets.● Build collaborative relationships with deans, program directors, faculty, and staff to ensure the alignment of professional programs with academic, industry, and public/private sector employment needs and expectations.● Employ best-practice enrollment management strategies to facilitate program growth.● Manage the strategy and operations of Clarkson’s microcredentials program.● Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build pathways for students from non-credit to credit programs.● Assist in obtainment of accreditation and/or approval for specific programs as applicable● In collaboration with University’s Marketing Department, collaborate on web and print content that accurately represents Clarkson’s continuing and professional education programs.● Develop, implement, and maintain short and long term strategic planning in order to meet programming, fiscal, and workforce goals● Provide and seek ongoing professional development among staff● Perform other related duties as assigned
Education:Minimal Education: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. PhD strongly preferred.
