Owners of the furniture wholesale company, Beyond Borders, and furniture retailer, Stock & Trade Design Co., have joined forces in creating a new 2022 retail brand, Jes & Gray Living. Both from humble beginnings, Rebekah Osborn and Michael Carey have spent the last decade passionately creating a company that encompasses manufacturing, logistics, wholesale and retail.
The Jes and Gray Living concept focuses on creating products that are sustainable, renewable, performance-driven and lifestyle inspired. The mission of Jes & Gray Living is to design and create waterscape inspired furniture & home décor that the people of the community will cherish and treasure; furnishings that will reflect their personalities and experiences, and will add function and joy to their lifestyle. We are now launching our 2nd store location, opening in Miramar Beach in October 2022.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Associate Designer is responsible for gaining design clients, creating branded design presentations, and closing the sale. Accountable to the Store Leader and Lead Designer, the Associate Designer will manage all aspects of the design projects that fall within a specific budget range.
DUTIES
- Maintain sales quota set forth by Regional Director
- Collaborates & works closely with Lead Designer
- Provide input & direction for visual merchandising of the showroom
- Provide excellent customer service & maintain a strong client base
- Ability to meet deadlines & lead multiple design projects simultaneously
- Produce brand appropriate design presentations; communicating design concepts, space planning & product selections
- Own all phases of the client experience including consultations, site visits, delivery & after-the-sale follow-up to deliver the highest level of customer service & satisfaction
- Ability to create branded Design Presentations taking into consideration clients’ aesthetic, architecture, lifestyle & budget
- Ability to close the sale after presentation
- Create Sales Orders and Purchase Orders based on the design job needs
- Provide design education & mentorship to the Sales Team
- Represent the brand through high-level communication, personal appearance & professionalism
- Maintain a strong interest & knowledge of design industry trends
- Strong presence on the sales floor when not actively working on projects to sell our design services and capture projects
- Participates in opening & closing of the galleries: sweep, windex, vacuum, straighten sales floor
- Ability to stand and maneuver on concrete sales floor for long durations (rest periods provided)
- Participates in cycle counts & physical inventories
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED
- The ideal candidate will have an associate’s degree in interior design or equivalent work experience with a demonstrated ability to create high-level Design Presentations & close the sale
- Minimum 3 years in the interior design or home furnishings industry
- Professional portfolio required
- Holidays & weekends required
- Must have open availability
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to provide own transportation to and from customers' homes for in home design consultations & installs
