Associate Human Resources Director directs the human resources staff that implement and manage policies and programs that reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Being an Associate Human Resources Director oversees processes and programs that support employees and company operations, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes, provide data, and report on HR activity. Additionally, Associate Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Associate Human Resources Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Associate Human Resources Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     We are looking for a Director of Human Resources to oversee all aspects of human resources and payroll practices and processes. What is a Director of Human Resources? To us, the Director of Human Resources is the go-to person for all employee-related issues.     In keeping with the mission and values of Big Thunder Marine, and the pledge to maintain our presence as the premier watercraft dealer at the Lake of the Ozarks, the Director of Human Resources provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organizations HR operations. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals. At all times the Director of Human Resources works to enhance our customer service experience and create lasting relationships with our clients.

     

    Essential Functions Statement(s):

    • Collaborates with executive leadership to define and implement the organizations long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.
    • Identifies key performance indicators for the organization’s human resource and talent management functions.
    • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs.
    • Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
    • Maintains knowledge of and compliance with laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. Reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include leadership training, safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
    • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Graduate Degree preferred.

    Experience: At least 5 year’s human resource experience required, with strategic, talent management, and business/organizational development preferred.  

    Computer Skills: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Google docs.

    Certifications & Licenses: SHRM-CP strongly preferred.                  

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Typical office environment with moderate noise level when working indoors. Outdoor and marine environment may contain uneven and slippery surfaces. Noise level may increase substantially upon interaction with watercraft.
