Associate Director / Director of Pharmacometrics, Cardiovascular, Renal, and Metabolism (CVRM)

We are seeking engaged and hardworking individual to join our growing Clinical Pharmacology and Quantitative Pharmacology (CPQP) team at AstraZeneca in Gaithersburg (Maryland, US). As an Associate Director/Director Pharmacometrics, you will be supporting large and small molecule projects across all phases of clinical development within the therapy area of Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for pharmacometrics (PMx) activities including population PK, PKPD, exposure-response, disease modeling, and simulations in all clinical development phases. You will integrate and analyse internal (and external) data to support interpretation and decision making at both study level and project level. You will drive the application of foundational and cutting-edge pharmacometrics techniques, in combination with business domain knowledge, to develop and apply advanced modelling to generate business and scientific insights. You will also provide coaching, task management and support to junior staff and promote best practice across multiple domains, and/or stakeholder groups.
Essential Skills/Experience:
• PhD degree preferred with demonstrated broad translational and clinical development experience, M.Sc./Pharm.D required exemplified by at least 3 years of drug development experience, with emphasis on Clinical Pharmacometrics
• Demonstrated expertise in pharmacometrics, including PK, PKPD and/or statistics
• Strong quantitative skills (e.g. experience in population modelling, statistics, systems and translational pharmacology modelling).
• Expert knowledge of pharmacokinetics and Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD)
• Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and execute Pharmacometrics activities at a project level
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of global regulatory, compliance, processes, standards and issues specific to clinical pharmacology
• Training and experience with PK and statistical software (NonMem, R, Stan, Winbugs ,SAS, Monolix , Phoenix, WinNonlin)
