Audio Visual Technician responsibilities include installing, configuring, operating, disassembling, and troubleshooting audio visual equipment. Performs production editing, routine maintenance, and inventory tracking. Being an Audio Visual Technician coordinates with clients on placement, integration, and ensures functionality of projectors, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, recording and video-conferencing equipment for live events and meetings. Responds to and resolves routine questions and technical issues. Additionally, Audio Visual Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Audio Visual Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Audio Visual Installation Technician

  • Headlight Audio Visual is looking for an audio-visual integration technician to join their thriving team!

    Our preference is for the candidate to have a technical background, experience with power tools, and experience in Commercial Audio Visual Integration would be preferred . However, we will train a motivated team member with no prior experience. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, computer proficient, possess good communication skills, be willing to travel with overnight stays, have flexible hours and schedule, be capable of working from ladders, be a team player, and maintain a clean driving record. Ability to pass a federal/state background check and a clean driving record is a must.

    Responsibilities:

    • Install various AV systems throughout the New England region in commercial locations
    • Build and bench test AV racks before delivering to the client site
    • Conduct equipment testing and field troubleshooting to mitigate on-site issues

    Routine installation tasks and requirements include:

    • Mounting devices, projectors and screens, displays, speakers, and cameras
    • Pulling low-voltage cable and terminating cables by crimping, compressing, or soldering methods
    • Working in overhead spaces, using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding
    • Lifting up to 75 pounds
    • Testing and troubleshooting a finished AV system installation
    • Overnight stays out of town from one to four days (per diem and lodging are paid by Headlight Audio Visual, Inc.)

    Required Knowledge & Skills:

    • High school or equivalent
    • Self-starter
    • Strong time management skills
    • Excellent phone and communication skills
    • Valid driver’s license

    Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

    • 2 years of AV technology work experience
    • Comprehensive knowledge of audio-visual installation best practices
    • Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video and control
    • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Biamp and Shure equipment preferred
    • Experience with AV rack wiring, labeling, and terminations preferred
    • Basic knowledge of IP based systems
    • Construction experience
    • Use of small hand tools and powered tools
