Job Summary
Seyller Bodies is an American company, with a global footprint, looking for an entry level, painter trainee. The painter trainee will learn all the steps necessary to produce a high quality finished paint product, including the chassis recondition and repaint. Employee must provide the appropriate protective equipment for the job. Although we are seeking an individual with basic painting skills, we are willing to train the right candidate who exhibits strong work ethics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preparation work on bare and pre-finished metals, including application of body filler and sanding to desired pre-paint finish.
• Prime and finish paint along with related duties, including spot-ins.
• Mix and tint all paints per manufactures recommendations.
• Inspect the condition of the vehicle or metal before repair and fill.
• Apply under-coating and bed-liner systems.
• Paint booms, boxes, cargo area and the outside of trucks.
• Function with in the guidelines of the company policy.
• Follow established safety practices and procedures.
• Work with personnel in other departments as well as office staff and customers.
• Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
• Maintaining a production schedule.Taking part in product development meetings.

Education and Work Experience

• Read, write, comprehension and communicate in English.
• Demonstrate basic math skills including reading a tape measure, identifying basic shop tools and pass a computer skills test.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Work independently and carry out an assignment to completion within the parameters of instructions given.
• Function with in the guidelines of the company policy.
• Demonstrate the ability to follow established safety practices and procedures.
• Demonstrate appropriate skills to work with personnel in other departments as well as office staff and customers.
• Taking part in product development meetings.
• Vocational certifications or degree or equivalent work experience must be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Demonstrate the ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 lbs. with frequent stooping, bending, squatting and kneeling.
• Able to talk, listen, and speak clearly.
• Maintaining attendance, personal care, appropriate appearance and demonstrate appropriate professional attitude.
• Perform manual duties such as sweeping, cleaning and maintaining the equipment and facility inside and out.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
