Training and Development Coordinator - Healthcare

    Location: Oshkosh

     

    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Learning and Development Director, or designee, the Learning Leader coordinates and implements the company’s training and development curriculum for new hires and existing employees, including online courses. The Learning Leader is responsible to be an integral part of the company’s onboarding and retention of employee initiatives as it relates to learning and development. This position works collectively across all departments and programs within Vista Care. This position is required to travel (within WI) and must have the ability to conduct training sessions outside of typical business hours. Learning Leaders are to provide support to the Operational Leaders to ensure that Vista Care is providing the Best Care.

    Balance- Learning Leaders may be expected to work beyond their normal work hours to ensure that training and development is occurring in Operational programs as needed. Learning Leaders should be able to organize and manage time effectively, to avoid burn-out and stress. 

     

    Excellence- Learning Leaders will deliver the field’s best practice as it relates to curriculum and training programs to ensure that Operational leaders have the best trained employees to support the individuals that receive services from Vista Care. 

     

    Success- Learning Leaders must have a desire to learn new and innovative ways to train and develop new and existing employees. 

     

    Tradition- Vista Care’s tradition is keeping the people we support in our hearts and actions at all times. Learning Leaders should be able to deliver training and development that will continue to put the people Vista Care supports first and foremost.

    Adaptation- Learning Leaders must have the ability to be flexible and to think beyond the box to ensure that Operational support is the priority of imagination and innovation. 

     

    Respect- Learning Leaders must have the ability to adjust to different training situations, learning styles, and cultural differences respectfully. 

     

    Encouragement- Learning Leaders should be able to energize others throughout the organization by offering support, encouragement, and positivity. 

     

    Essential Job Functions: 

    Behavior should  be professional and consistent with Vista Care’s values, culture, mission and philosophy. Expectations include but not limited to:

    • Being a positive role model for employees, co-workers and leadership throughout the organization. Learning Leaders are usually the first in-person interaction that new employees encounter. 
    • Comply with company policies and procedures. 
    • Treating employees, leadership and all individuals with dignity and respect, including honesty and communication. 
    • Assist with efforts to develop staff retention strategies, including introduction of new training, mentorship programs, etc. 
    • Assist with on-going training that supports Operations in programs.
    • Monitoring training certifications and renewals with notifications to staff when necessary. 
    • Develop in-depth knowledge and expertise for Vista Care’s training program/courses.
    • Ensure documentation of all training sessions conducted for new and existing employees. 
    • Ensure the entry and maintenance of all training courses and data into Vista Care’s learning management systems. 
    • Training for new and existing employees and providing or arranging specialized training as it supports each specific Operational program. 
    • Assuring employees are trained and competent in all Vista Care’s policies and procedures. 
    • Conduct in-person and virtual training that fits the needs of each program and services. 
    • Coordinate with Operational Leaders to determine the best time and place to conduct training. 
    • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all departments, programs and states. 
    • Maintain competency and certifications to teach all required training across all Vista Care programs. 
    • Maintain and renew certifications/licenses as it relates to training. 
    • Conduct crisis prevention training techniques to new employees as needed by each program/state.
    • Provide training and education to program employees in conjunction with Operational Leadership when necessary and/or requested. 
    • The ability to use creativity and judgment in creating training materials, presentations, curriculum, etc. 
    • Ability to effectively train virtually for other programs and states with Vista Care. 
     

    Education and Experience

    At least three years in the field working with people with developmental disabilities. Preference will be given to those with degrees in human services, and/or those that are certified in CPI as an instructor.  

     

    Additional Requirements

    • Required to pass background check and drug screen, applicable to state regulations
    • Must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and meet Vista Care’s current driving requirements. 
    • Travel Required for this position, travel is determined by Operational and training needs.
