Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering employee benefit programs, such as health and retirement plans, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position requires an individual with excellent organizational and communication skills and thorough knowledge of benefit plans and regulations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by the position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required. Other duties may be assigned.

    Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans, including health, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement plans.

    Manage the family medical leaves and worker’s compensation cases.

    Oversee open enrollment and ensure timely and accurate enrollment of employees.

    Analyze and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits.

    Maintain and update benefit records.

    Analyze benefit programs for cost-effectiveness, competitive positioning, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of benefits data.

    Assist with the development and implementation of benefit communication strategies, benefit programs, and policies.

    Participate in the annual renewal process.

    Provide HR administrative support to the HR team.

    Maintain all filing for all HR Benefit-related documents.

    clear a criminal background check, driver’s license check, and drug test.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field.

    One (1) year of clerical and/or administrative support, and administering employee benefit plans.

    REQUIRED LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS

    Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    Physical – Primary functions require sufficient ability and mobility to work in a fast-paced office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information; drive. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Vocal – Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.

    Vision – See in normal visual range with or without correction.

    Hearing: Hear in normal audio range with or without correction.
