Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     position overview:
    The Director of Benefits will drive the strategy and the execution of a competitive and equitable benefits program to attract, retain and engage talent for our client. In addition, this position will monitor the effectiveness and cost competitiveness of our benefits packages and provide recommendations consistent with our benefits philosophy, business requirements, market competitiveness, and cost competitiveness. This role will work closely with other leaders within People Culture to include Payroll, Compensation, Shared Services, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Business Partners, and an assortment of external business partners/vendors. This role will work closely with a number of key stakeholders across the business to understand strategic priorities and objectives of the business, while providing company associates with a positive benefits experience. This role will lead compliance efforts and partner closely with the team members in India.

    what youll do:
    • Ensure effective hiring and development: Serve as the lead for hiring and developing benefit team members. Build the team for success, drive to provide excellent customer services with credibility and empathy. Drive team collaboration across India and US team members.
    • Deliver positive associate experience: Utilize technology to create or revise benefit processes/procedures that are easy to navigate for all levels of their employees. Design scalable processes that lead to exceptional candidate and associate experiences.
    • Wellness Program: Help to further our global well-being initiatives by establishing a wellness strategy and overseeing benefit programs in alignment with our global benefits philosophy and total rewards vision.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze benefit data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide insights and recommendations for process enhancements. Create and manage this function through use of data sharing as appropriate with COE partners and the PC Leadership team.
    • Process Design and Improvement: Improve processes through thoughtful process engineering. Identify, analyze, and evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement. Lead a team to develop and implement streamlined processes, workflows, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Operate with a mindset of tireless continuous improvement and unwavering expectations of operational excellence.
    • Automation and Technology: Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation tools to streamline processes. Collaborate with HRIS team to implement and integrate systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security. Continuously explore emerging technologies to enhance process automation.
    • Maintain a rigorous view of PCO compliance: Assume responsibility for governance across all internal stakeholders (PC BPs, Centers of Excellence, Technology Payroll, Reporting, Legal, etc.) Lead the charge on reviews, updates by developing and implementing organizational procedures to ensure operational compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e. g., ERISA, FLSA, ACA, OFCCP, etc.)
    • Manage vendor relationships: Partner with our benefits brokers to conduct the annual benefits renewals, ensuring that our client receives competitive rates without compromising the quality of our programs, and take ownership of our clients annual open enrollment process.
    Drive the selection of vendors, contract negotiations, SLAs and the creation and management of product/service standards.

    professional qualifications

    • Bachelors degree or a minimum of 6 years experience in employee benefits design, management, and administration. Global benefits experience is a plus, especially work experience with teams in India.
    • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience managing and developing a team of direct reports.
    • Strong working knowledge of other People Culture functional areas, including Compensation, HRIS, Compliance, Payroll, Talent Acquisition.
    • Strong knowledge of HR regulatory compliance areas FMLA, FLSA, etc.
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and systematically gather relevant information to effectively diagnose and solve problems.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with experience building strategies for systems and process improvement implementations.
    • Strong knowledge and work experience with technology such as Workday and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Excellent verbal/written communication skills required; must have the ability to confidently negotiate and sell major initiatives to senior management.
    • Strong relationship management skills for both internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
    • Ability to envision a broad strategic vision and recommend alternative solutions.
    • Demonstrated passion for delivering customer-centric and results-driven products/services with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Strong project/process management skills.
    • Willingness to travel as necessary.

    preferred qualifications

    • CBP or CEBS certification
    • Experience with lean processes or other process engineering methodologies.
