Building and Grounds Supervisor supervises and trains building and grounds maintenance staff. Oversees landscaping activities, the maintenance of sidewalks and parking areas, and the removal of trash and snow. Being a Building and Grounds Supervisor maintains and monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning. May be responsible for the housekeeping staff. Additionally, Building and Grounds Supervisor, a level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Job Overview:
This position is primarily responsible for the overall building maintenance. The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, and other building systems. This position operates under limited supervision and reports to the Foreman Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
2. Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
3. Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
4. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
5. Conducts preventive maintenance on plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
6. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities (trash collection and disbursement).
7. Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance (track oil/grease/solvent inventories).
8. Conduct safety inspections.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
