    The Business Development Officer is responsible for assuring the business customers are aware of the most opportune deposit option made available to them by the Bank. This position must deepen the banking relationship with our existing commercial customers, as well as reach out to new commercial customers to bring in new deposit relationships. This position exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to bank product launches and specials.

    Essential Duties:

    1. Communicate our commercial deposit products to customers to make them aware that we offer such products.
    2. Create opportunities for the Bank with new, prospective customers by networking.
    3. Assure that our products fit into the Bank's workflow and procedural processes.
    4. Educate other staff members on the Bank's products to ensure understanding and familiarization.
    5. Work with vendors to make sure that the Bank is represented well by them.
    6. Analyze banking statements from our customers to see which products best fit their banking needs.
    7. Ensure optimal levels of customer services in relation to the Bank's business products.
    8. Coordinate and communicate with staff to resolve issues and receive feedback on business products and services offered by the Bank.
    9. Meet or exceed assigned sales goals by building, developing, and managing new and existing relationships with commercial deposit customers and partner with the Bank's employees to make this happen.
    10. Refer clients to other Dieterich Bank areas of expertise for additional needs.
    11. Handle business banking customer service issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
    12. Maintain effective relationships with supervisors, Retail Bank Associates, Commercial Lenders and of associates, while maintaining a spirit of teamwork.
    13. Lead the charge on market research plans to identify new opportunities and stay update to date with trends and market conditions.
    14. Work with executives to implement marketing strategies and new opportunities.

    Secondary Duties:

    1. Work with third party vendors to accomplish the Bank's full array of product offerings to its customers.
    2. Other duties as assigned.

    Work Schedule:

    This position requires 40 hours each week with work typically being accomplished between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekend and evening work will occur on an as-needed basis. Frequent travel to other branches and customer locations is expected. Minimal travel to businesses and conferences will occur.

Up to 25 pounds may bel lifted. Getting in and out of a vehicle frequently will occur in this position.


    Education and Experience:

    1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
    1. 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or related field
    1. Previous banking experience is preferred

    Work Environment:

    This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
