Job Description:
• The SAP Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing SAP implementation projects to ensure they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- This role involves managing resources, leading project teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- The SAP Project Manager will work closely with functional and technical teams, ensuring that all aspects of the project lifecycle are efficiently executed.
- Should have carried out 5 full cycle Implementations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
PROJECT PLANNING AND EXECUTION:
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocation plans for SAP implementations or upgrades.
- Define the project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate project teams through all phases of SAP project implementation.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:
- manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication of project status, risks, and expectations.
- Act as a liaison between the business units and technical teams to ensure alignment.
- Facilitate project meetings and workshops with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
RISK AND ISSUE MANAGEMENT:
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues that could impact the successful delivery of the project.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement contingency plans as needed.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments to keep the project on track.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT:
- Track project financials, including budget forecasts, actuals, and variances.
- Ensure efficient use of resources to meet project goals and optimize costs.
TEAM LEADERSHIP AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
- Lead, mentor, and guide project teams, including SAP functional and technical consultants.
- Assign tasks and monitor work performance to ensure project objectives are met.
- Support team development and training to enhance overall project execution.
PROJECT REPORTING:
- Prepare and deliver regular status reports and presentations to stakeholders and senior management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
- Use project management tools to track and report project progress.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within SAP projects.
- Recommend improvements to project processes, methodologies, and tools.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
SAP KNOWLEDGE:
- In-depth understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SAP FICO, SAP MM, SAP SD, SAP HCM, etc.).
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or other SAP versions is highly desirable.
- Experience in SAP project lifecycle, including design, build, testing, and deployment phases.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT TOOLS:
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or other relevant software.
- Knowledge of SAP Solution Manager is a plus.
ENTERPRISE IT LANDSCAPE:
- Understanding of IT architecture and how SAP integrates with other enterprise systems.
- Experience working with middleware, cloud solutions, and data migration processes.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:
METHODOLOGIES:
- Expertise in both Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
- Experience with ASAP methodology or SAP Activate methodology for SAP implementations.
BUDGET AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
- Experience managing project budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
RISK MANAGEMENT:
- Strong ability to identify risks, manage issues, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
TEAM LEADERSHIP:
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external consultants.
- Ability to motivate and guide teams through complex project challenges.
STAKEHOLDER COMMUNICATION:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder presentations, status reports, and issue resolution.
- Ability to engage with senior management, project sponsors, and business users.
CHANGE MANAGEMENT:
- Ability to manage and facilitate organizational change during SAP project implementations.
- Experience in end-user training and documentation to support system changes.

TIME MANAGEMENT:
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

CERTIFICATIONS:
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is highly desirable.
- SAP-related certifications (such as SAP Activate or SAP S/4HANA certifications) are preferred.
