Business Development Director directs the execution of the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish financial objectives. Identifies and evaluates new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Being a Business Development Director develops and uses contacts and relationships within the industry, business environment, and customer base to understand and respond to competition, pricing, and product demand changes. Oversees the development of proposals and contracts for new business opportunities and manages negotiations. Additionally, Business Development Director collaborates with marketing, sales, product development, and other stakeholders to support business development plans. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Business Development Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Business Development Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     DESCRIPTION:

    Decypher Technologies, LTD is seeking an experienced Federal Business Development Director to drive the organization’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers’ most important needs and creating/leading winning capture strategies.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Grow and qualify the opportunity pipeline, to include existing as well as adjacent markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging inter and intra-company collaboration and current technologies
    • Support development of growth plans to ensure alignment with strategic goals of the company and lead the identification, qualification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities.
    • Develop internal cross-organizational relationships and drive new growth through collaboration with Operations.
    • Obtain market intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and develop marketing strategies that maximize the value of that intelligence.
    • Participate as a thought leader in bid decisions, gate reviews and the development of cost strategies.
    • Play a key role in the development and execution of the long-term strategic plan for the company
    • Perform research to understand current and emerging customer needs and requirements.
    • Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers across a diverse business portfolio.
    • Mentor and develop Business Development team and project managers
    • Oversee and support the development of strong, compliant and competitive proposals to include solution development, win themes, proposal writing and reviews, and pricing strategy

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of relevant experience or a Master’s Degree and 5 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
    • Demonstrated success in growing business in the DoD and/or Federal Civilian agencies
    • 5 years of leadership experience working in aerospace & defense, government services and/or other professional services executing all aspects of business development, program capture, proposal development and post-submission actions.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop, foster, and grow customer and partner relationships.
    • Proven experience working with geographically diverse teams; strong coaching and mentoring skills.
    • Ability to identify key growth areas and develop new business that is aligned with the company's growth strategy.
    • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors.
    • Knowledge of competitors and ability to evaluate relative strengths and competitive threats.
    • Proven ability to collaborate within and across organizational boundaries.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Demonstrated proposal writing experience
    • Experience presenting to senior executives, peers, and customers.
    • Ability to achieve results through others; possess the skills and ability to empower and engage people and instill drive and passion into the organization.
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Provide at least one example of leading opportunity capture >$10 million single award contract including: developing overall win strategy, shaping deals with customers, developing team strategies, developing proposal, understanding pricing and assisting in developing winning price.
    • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
    • Demonstrated success in leading and growing DoD services business
    • Completed professional training in Business Development Management.
