Job Junction/Purpose: The Business Development Officer is primarily responsible for sourcing, identifying, and closing new loan opportunities using the SBA 504 and other loan programs. Establishing and maintaining a proven network of referral sources from which one can generate a sufficient number of new opportunities to promote the origination of SBA 504 loans in an assigned market (Pennsylvania & West Virginia) will be a primary focus of the position.
Primary Responsibilities/Objectives:
· Establishing and sustaining a referral network targeting banking partners, business brokers, consultants, lawyers, accountants, economic development organizations and related professionals that results in sufficient lead generation to achieve or exceed sales goals.
· Developing and implementing a personal business plan and marketing strategy to aid in identifying areas of opportunity for new business penetration, and the creation of a solid contact base of current and potential referral sources.
· Interviewing, guiding and advising businesses through the loan application, approval and closing processes.
· Working with internal partners to assist in structuring, presenting, and guiding lending opportunities through the application, underwriting, and closing process to ensure that all SBA requirements are met.
· Maintaining and applying a thorough understanding of RDFC/SBA credit policy and underwriting guidelines while working with RDFC team members to practice sound risk management and adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.
· Assisting in loan servicing which may include annual loan review and site visits.
· Developing and maintaining knowledge of local, state and federal loan programs to maximize coordination with the SBA 504 Loan Program.
· Actively participate in local networking and economic development functions within assigned geographic market of Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Qualifications:
· Completion of 4 years of relevant degree; minimum 3.0 GPA
· Minimum two years in commercial lending with working knowledge in the use and application of SBA loan programs.
· Proven track record of sales and outside calling skills.
· Local market knowledge and the ability to develop, retain and expand relationships with Centers of Influence.
· Professional organization, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, including preparing public correspondence.
· Work independently with minimal supervision to develop local market.
· Adaptable to travel within assigned geographic footprint.
· Proficient in MS Office applications.
