Job Title: Analyst Corporate Development & StrategyDepartment: Corporate Development & Strategy
Summary: The Corporate Development & Strategy Analyst role will report to a combination of the Vice President of Investor Relations, the Director of Finance, and the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development and will support Diamondback Energy and its subsidiaries. The position will have significant access to C-level executives throughout the organization in all functions. The role will include financial analysis, investor relations and exposure to both business and corporate development, as well as capital markets transactions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Corporate Development
- Prepare monthly deliverables for senior executives and the Board of Directors
- Manage spreadsheets and databases with the accounting department
- Manage corporate financial models
- Assist in overall strategic planning and financial forecasting for the company
- Prepare, manage, and assist in capital markets transaction preparation and execution
- Gather research/data from market data resources for presentation material for department and management
- Assist with the evaluation and financial modeling of merger and acquisition opportunities
- Maintains knowledge of both debt and equity capital markets
Investor Relations
- Manage company earnings schedule, releases, presentations, and conference call scripts
- Liaise extensively with investment analysts and investors to discuss the company story as well as coordinate meetings with company management and answer questions from the investment community
- Manage and schedule the investor relations department for industry conferences
- Follow industry intelligence and synthesize or pass on pertinent information to senior executives
- Research and monitor investor preferences and investor allocation trends and changes
- Support ad-hoc requests from senior executives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business discipline
- Three (3 ) years of relevant work experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Proven and extensive Microsoft Excel and data analytics skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and prioritize work
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to interact with all levels of management internally and represent the company externally to investors and research analysts
- Proven skill in organizing multiple projects in a high-volume deadline-oriented, cross-functional team environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset - demonstrated ability to problem solve and think creatively
- Strong attention to detail with dependable follow-through and execution
- Flexible and team oriented - willing and available to work extended hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or other business discipline
- Demonstrated history of managing details with excellence, while keeping the bigger picture and overarching goals in mind
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfortable manipulating large data sets of information
- Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations
