Additionally, CAD Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. The ideal candidate for this position is a CAD Drafter & Designer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in AUTO CAD release 9 or above. Experience or knowledge on a CNC machine is a plus! Our new team member must have a good understanding of product and manufacturing flow. The candidate must have a good understanding of structural design and be able to interpret blueprints and plans. This ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can work with team members to ensure the fast-paced work environment flows cohesively.
Overview:
Assist in the preparation of plans and exhibit which entails making accurate computer drawings from trailer plans, design sketches and conceptual drawings
Set schedule Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm
Position Description:
Read and review shop drawings, specifications and other data received from the trailer designs
Modify and refine designs to conform to customer specifications, production limitations or trailer plan modifications
Evaluate feasibility of design ideas based on factors such as appearance, safety, function, serviceability, budget, and production cost/methods
Research production specifications, costs, production materials and manufacturing methods, and provide cost estimates and itemized production requirements
Develop component documents for work orders that reflect knowledge or equipment used in shop and how to optimize efficiency of cutting and component assembly
Present designs and reports to manager for approval to discuss possible need for modification
Must understand product and manufacturing workflow
Perform related responsibilities as assigned
Education & Experience
At least 2 years of experience with AutoCAD
Basic skills of manipulating and modifying drawings within AutoCAD
Must be capable of performing all advanced features of CAD systems
Technical background as it relates to reading and understanding ACM fabrication assembly
High school diploma or equivalent
CNC certificate preferred
CNC (Dragon A4000) experience
Auto CAD certification preferred
