Position Description
The incumbent provides security and administrative support to direct funded programs with unique security requirements, which are more stringent than those security requirements normally applied to DoD in the interest of National Security.
Interprets sponsor's unique classified technical needs and applies risk management and implementation of relevant security measures to ensure national security.
Provides entry-level security oversight related to core disciplines of the Information, Personnel, Physical, and Industrial Security programs in support of Navy and Department of Defense Special Access Programs to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
DUTIES : As a Security Specialist DA-0080-02; with guidance, the incumbent is responsible for assisting and providing program protection in the interest of national security.
With guidance and oversight, the incumbent will plan, implement and administers the Special Access Program (SAP) / Special Access Required (SAR) Security ensuring SAP / SAR security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
With guidance, the incumbent operate within a security team or could serve as the alternate Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO) providing advice and assisting the team lead in all aspects of SAP / SAR security programs needed to complete the organization's mission.
The incumbent will also provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS).
The incumbent, with guidance will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements.
The incumbent operates as an effective team member within the Navy / DoD structure, and is able to understand and apply ethical standards in relationships.
