Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. As an expansion of Summit Health’s Cardiology Department, we are seeking an NP or PA (new graduates considered) to expand services in our growing department. This unique position would be responsible for conducting cardiac stress tests to include but not limited to chemical and exercise stress testing, cardiac loop recorders, triage, thoracentesis, biologic injections and seeing same day urgent visits. This position will provide support and collaborate with physicians and APP’s with coordination of patient care in the office setting. There is no call or hospital rounding responsibilities for this position.
