Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities:

Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
- Verify and validate coding accuracy for billing purposes
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on claim status
- Process payments, refunds, and adjustments related to medical billing
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cadiology medical billing or coding
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems
- Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
