Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug coordinates the overall plan of care for patients with alcohol or drug problems from admission to discharge. Acts as a liaison between patient/family and service delivery personnel to ensure patients are effectively evaluated and treated. Being a Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug works with management to maintain and improve overall quality of services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Additionally, Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug requires a valid Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor(LCDC) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Shift: Casual position with variable hours. Availability for on-call status with call-in as necessary when specimen collection/testing is required.
Pay: $18/hour when performing tests. $3/hour when on call. Additional stipend per call.
Summary:
Travels to various off-site locations to administer urine drug screens as well as conduct breath alcohol tests using a portable breathalyzer.
Responsibilities:
* Accurately and efficiently performs collection of urine specimens for DOT and Non-DOT urine drug collection. Ensures that collection facility is properly prepared and secured to meet Federal regulations. Consistently completes chain of custody form with all required documentation to prevent affidavit or collection failure.
* Performs breath alcohol testing in accordance with Federal regulations. Performs quality and accuracy checks as scheduled and according to procedure. Consistently documents maintenance and quality control as required.
* Responds to initial call within 15 minutes when on call. Contacts client(employer) within 10 minutes to notify of ETA and any special instructions. Consistently arrives at customer location within 1 hour of initial call.
* At all times, interacts professionally and respectfully with employer and subject. Recognizes sensitive nature of work and maintains dignity and respect, even when delays occur. Personal appearance is neat, clothing and shoes adhere to policy.
* Maintains equipment kit and paperwork in a neat and organized manner. Kit is stocked appropriately for work being performed. Equipment is maintained in working order and problems with equipment are brought to the attention of the coordinator immediately.
* Accurately records and reconciles all call related documents so that charges are accurate. Completes and efficiently submits all travel logs and timekeeping.
* Identifies situations in which subjects may attempt to adulterate a collection and takes required, necessary steps to mitigate risk.
Other information:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Valid driver’s license and Department of Motor Vehicle record meeting the requirements of Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories’ Vehicle Liability Policy
3. Map reading and way-finding skills throughout the Greater Milwaukee area.
4. Must obtain certification as Drug Screen and Breath Alcohol Technician upon hire.
5. Demonstrated customer service skills.
6. Strong attention to detail in completing forms and documents
