Principle Duties and Responsibilities
1. Identify ingredient vendors to interview and determine product availability, price and terms of sale.
2. Participate in and contribute to improvement projects, working together with leaders and internal stakeholders.
3. Actively engages, owns relationships and coordinates activities with cross functional internal teams to acquire ingredients in a cost effective and consistent manner ensuring a predictable ingredient supply.
4. Pro-actively work on improving the ingredient portfolio in areas such as sustainability, supply security and risk mitigation.
5. Regularly tracks, monitors, and evaluates contract compliance and vendor performance.
6. Forecasts and monitors inventory levels on assigned ingredient category contracts and/or stocking agreements.
7. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts to evaluate conformance to company policy.
8. Inputs and maintains quote files on assigned categories.
9. Works closely with partner teams in plant purchasing and operations teams in solving assigned ingredient issues.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting or finance preferred and 5 or more years’ experience procuring ingredients in a corporate food manufacturing environment.
2. Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Fast-Moving Consumer Packaged Goods (FMCPG) required.
3. Strong PC skills and experience working with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system are required.
4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task throughout the day.
5. Ability to work under pressure and tolerate stress.
