Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Summary: Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer skilled in troubleshooting, process improvement, CNC programming, and supporting new product installations in a manufacturing setting.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime and recommend preventive solutions.
    • Develop, assemble, procure, or modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment for efficient production methods.
    • Create CNC programs for manufacturing equipment, including router tables and robotic routers, with occasional off-hours programming.
    • Conduct time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
    • Read schematics, assembly drawings, data sheets, and process sheets for testing, building fixtures, and troubleshooting equipment.
    • Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, and repair of non-conforming manufactured products to determine root causes.
    • Perform tests, gather data, and write reports on manufacturing-related topics, such as efficiency and productivity.
    • Promote and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement activities.
    • Lead improvement initiatives, including hands-on completion of projects.
    • Work with Product Development Engineers on new product installations, testing, and validation.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
    • Alternatively, a Technical Associate Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Strong skills in troubleshooting, problem correction, and prevention.
    • High computer proficiency in various programming software, including Robotics and CNC-NC programming, PLC programs understanding, and basic CAD and print reading knowledge.
    • Proficiency in precision measuring down to .001 inches using appropriate inspection equipment.
    • Experience in thermoforming or other plastics processing is beneficial.


    Pay Details: $29.00 to $39.00 per hour
