The Portfolio Analyst is responsible for working with the commercial lending team and loan servicing department from the time a loan closes through maturity of the loan to ensure all loans are compliant and conform with Shoreham Bank (formerly Home Loan Investment Bank), SBA and USDA rules and regulations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Statement and/or Tax Return analysis on all borrowers (Businesses and Personal) to determine the company performance using EBITDA.
- Communicate via email and telephone with borrowers, attorney’s, tax offices, insurance agents, and other third parties to ensure that all required documentation is received on an annual basis for each loan. Recognize areas of concern, deficiencies, or loan weaknesses, and work to resolve these concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Process and provide analysis for subordination and lien release requests. The analysis will include analyzing a borrower’s financial statements and/or tax returns, reviewing collateral, determining loan strengths/weaknesses, and properly risk rating the subject loan based on Shoreham Bank's policy standards.
- Develop modification/forbearance agreements on severely delinquent loans.
- Complete quarterly Action Plans on all criticized/classified assets. Present these Action Plans to the Asset Quality Committee, comprised of Board Members and Sr. Management on a quarterly basis.
- Service all commercial loans in the portfolio, including insurance and financial statement tracking, UCC extensions, financial reviews, and annual loan reviews.
- Monthly Collection of Borrower loan payments via phone calls and emails to individual debtors, guarantors, and/or their designated representatives.
- Perform collection related activities such as ensuring adequate insurance coverage on all commercial loan related collateral, update property and sales tax payments or delinquencies, order property preservation, assess collateral values (e.g. appraisal, BPO, research), environmental, etc.
- During liquidation of accounts, identify appropriate legal counsel to represent the Bank and work collaboratively to execute the approved liquidation plan, up to and including the removal of the Bank’s lien position on all collateral involved and/or the pursuit of any associated deficiency balance.
General tax return and financial statement knowledge is required.
