As a Formulation / Chemical Operator in Greenville, MS on 1st shift, 6:00am - 4:30pm, will be responsible for carrying out tasks associated with the safe manufacture of formulated batches in processing materials according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to produce products that meet Nufarm quality standards. At times there will be a requirement to also carry out tasks associated with the packaging of those batches. The Formulation / Chemical Operator may also direct and coordinate, with the direction of the shift Supervisor, activities of contract-labor employees The Formulation / Chemical Operator will perform the following duties personally or through the direction of the shift Supervisor in delegating to appropriate subordinates.
What will you be doing?
The duties and responsibilities of the Formulation / Chemical Operator include, but are not limited to:
· Following policies and procedures (SOPs) as written.
· Ensuring that products produced meet Nufarm quality standards and that they are produced at rates so as to meet scheduled demands.
· Inspecting production equipment to ensure operability and informing supervision of corrective actions to ensure that scheduled products will be formulated and packaged per the schedule.
· Ensuring that housekeeping standards are always visitor ready in all areas.
· Weighing and staging of raw materials for use in formulation.
· Assuring neat and accurate records, labels and all other paperwork associated with the formulation tasks.
· Ability to rotate to work at different areas throughout the process (charging, weighing, milling, packaging, etc.).
· Provides a floor presence while observing workers and provides immediate feedback regarding compliance with quality, safety and performance standards.
· Reviews production schedules on a daily basis and takes proactive measures to ensure their completion. This includes recommendations to modify the schedule and/or manning as appropriate.
· Assist in the training of casual and/or new employees.
