    WORK DAYS: 250

    REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Education Level: Education Specialist degree in education from an accredited college or university -OR- Master's degree in education with significant experience in educational administration.

    Preferred: Earned doctorate

    2. Experience, Skill, and Certification:

    • Successful teaching and multi-year senior level administrator experience in an educational setting.
    • Eligible for Georgia Leadership certification (Tier II)
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of school administration.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of school division objectives, procedures, and organization.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of school personnel and administrative practices, procedures, and methods.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with School Board members, school administrators, teachers, staff, and all support staff.
    • Ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor, and evaluate new and/or current programs.
    Preferred : Experience in a large urban system characterized by multi- ethnic and cultural diversity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

    • Oversee the development, evaluation, and alignment of curriculum to educational standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate with the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance to ensure curriculum reflects innovative and research-based approaches.
    • In partnership with the Chief of Schools provides guidance and support to school leaders and teachers in implementing effective instructional practices that improve student learning outcomes.
    • Work closely with the Chief of Schools to ensure alignment between instructional strategies and overall educational objectives.
    • Design and facilitate comprehensive professional development programs to enhance educators' skills and knowledge in pedagogy, curriculum implementation, and assessment.
    • Collaborate with the Chief of Schools and Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance to identify and address professional development needs aligned with strategic goals.
    • Develop and implement assessment tools and processes to measure student progress, evaluate program effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement.
    • Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions, identify areas for growth, and track progress towards academic goals.
    • Collaborate with the Chief of Schools and the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance to operationalize the strategic plan, ensuring academic goals are integrated into school operations.
    • Monitor and report on progress towards academic goals, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Lead efforts to promote equity, inclusion, and diversity in educational practices, ensuring all students have access to high-quality instruction and resources.
    • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to create a supportive and culturally responsive learning environment for all students.
    • Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in education, integrating innovative approaches into instructional programs.
    • Collaborate with the Deputy Superintendent of Strategy, Innovation, and Performance to pilot and implement new initiatives aligned with the organization's goals.
    • Cultivate partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and stakeholders to support academic initiatives and enhance student success.
    • Engage with parents and the community to promote a shared vision for educational excellence and build support for academic programs.
    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience. (A-1) New 03-2024
