The Claims Investigator examines, and authorizes insurance claims investigated by insurance adjusters. Reviews, evaluates and processes insurance claims and makes recommendations for resolution. Being a Claims Investigator has contact with agents, claimants, and policy holders. Studies reports prepared by adjusters and similar claims to determine the extent of insurance coverage and validity of the claim. In addition, Claims Investigator determines settlement according to organization practices and procedures. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a Claims Investigator works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Job Summary:

    On-site physician is responsible for personally supervising or conducting studies according to protocol. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with protocol development and reports, meeting with sponsors and CROs, attending all meetings related to studies, and representing our site as an expert in the field of clinical research.


    Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Oversees the conduct of research in accordance with federal regulations.
    • Assures medical safety and appropriate clinical care for research study participants.
    • Supervise research staff.
    • Oversees the research team to help ensure ethical conduct in all aspects of the research process including but not limited to the treatment of humans, conflicts of interest, data acquisition, management, sharing and ownership, publication practices, responsible authorship, and collaborative research and reporting.
    • Knowledge regarding ongoing and current research studies, research indications, and investigational compounds, with emphasis on patient safety, data collection and protocol execution.
    • Attends sponsor training meetings.
    • Collection of study data, especially efficacy and safety data-SIGNATURE OVERSIGHT AND INVOLVEMENT.
    • Communicates appropriately with entities involved in conducting the research study (eg. Sponsor, CRO, regulatory, vendors, etc).
    • Personally responsible for all aspects of training and performance of clinical research staff in executing their responsibilities and duties.
    • Documents appropriately assessments, activities, and decisions regarding above responsibilities.
    • Maintains records and makes these available for sponsor monitoring, auditing and government inspection.
    • On-call coverage.
    • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all inclusive.

    Education/Experience/Skills:

    • Possess a valid M.D. or D.O. in Internal Medicine degree. Board Certified or Eligible.
    • 1-3 years experience conducting clinical research trials as either a PI or Sub-investigator or other relevant experience.
    • Must have good interpersonal skills, demonstrated through interactions with patients, staff, Sponsor representatives, etc.
    • Must reflect the professional image of the company, upholding the company vision in actions, demeanor, and appearance. Maintains confidentiality.
    • Must possess sound clinical judgment and be able to make decisions regarding subject eligibility, adverse event causality and subject care and follow-up.

    Working Conditions

    1. Indoor, Clinic and Office environment.

    2. Essential physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, walking.

    3. Lightly active position, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.

    4. Reporting to work, as scheduled, is essential.
