Claims Property Specialist

  • Mountain West Farm Bureau is seeking a full-time Claims Property Specialist to join our team to undergo comprehensive training and mentorship to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to investigate, analyze, and settle basic claims. This individual learns how to conduct thorough on-site inspections, assess damages, collect relevant information, and interact with claimants and other parties to ensure a fair and timely claims resolution process. This full-time position is located onsite (not a remote position) at our office in Sheridan, WY and typically works 40 hours per week. You can expect a competitive wage of $4,058 - 5,175 per month .

    REQUIREMENTS FOR A CLAIMS PROPERTY SPECIALIST

    In this full-time position, you will operate in a variety of locations including office settings as well as claimants’ sites. This role requires extended periods of walking, sitting, bending, and climbing and carrying ladders. Additionally, performing this job requires extensive work with computers, mobile devices, and other productivity tools. The following are required to assist in the duties performed by a Claims Property Specialist:

    Minimum Requirements:

    • High school degree or GED.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with emphasis on computer skills.
    • Ability to obtain a state adjuster’s license.
    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to claim sites as required.
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge of:
      • Insurance policies, terms, and coverage types.
      • Auto body and dwelling construction.
      • Medical terminology.
    • Basic investigation, evaluation, and negotiation skills.
    • Prior experience in insurance, customer service, or a related field.
