Essential Duties:
- Transport Lubes by tote, drum, or case goods using a stakebed truck.
- Delivery process involves pumping from portable pumps for Def and Coolant.
- Understanding of calculating tank sizes and how to calculate delivery amounts.
- Understanding of closed fittings for remote deliveries.
- Deliveries may include pumping of product from/to a tote, drum, or tank.
- Safely drive truck to and from destination applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads.
- Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner.
- Verify directions with operations manager or customer service before leaving the plant to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site.
- Strive to meet customer expectations without exception and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives.
- Develop extensive working relationships with customers, both external and internal, in order to maximize opportunities and to ensure customer needs are addressed.
- Keep equipment in acceptable condition of cleanliness using approved cleaning materials and supplies.
- Maintain cell phone contact with supervisor/manager to receive and transmit delivery instructions.
- Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights brakes, gas, fuel, oil, and water.
- Do visual inspections on customer’s site of tanks and products to check for water contamination. Use sludge judge to assist in inspection.
- Complete Lubes Service Dispatch Sheet, Vehicle Bulk, and Tote bulk log paperwork at end of shift.
- May perform minor roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs.
- Maintain good working knowledge of the traffic routes of the area.
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
- Assist other company employees as needed.
PHYSICAL / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
__x__The position is located in an outdoors environment frequent encounters dirt and dust, noise and vibration, fumes and odors and wetness/humidity. May be frequently exposed to mechanical, chemical, and electrical hazards. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. This position may require travel via vehicle and airplane. Employee may be required to sit for long periods of time. The incumbent frequently lifts up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience as a CDL driver.
- One (1) or more years of experience handling Lubes products and/or hazardous materials
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required (Class A or Class B)
- Tanker Endorsement required
- High school diploma or GED required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess effective written and oral communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving techniques and skills
