Clinical Outcomes Director directs in-depth analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees and leads staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a Clinical Outcomes Director creates, defines, and implements performance metrics to review program effectiveness. Evaluates patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, Clinical Outcomes Director identifies opportunities and provides recommendations to improve program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to senior management. The Clinical Outcomes Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Clinical Outcomes Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    Your Responsibilities

    As the Clinical Director at Hillcrest Family Services, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the delivery of high-quality mental health services to our community. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate mental health professional to lead our clinical team, develop effective programs, and ensure that our organization provides exceptional care and support to those in need. The Clinical Director will collaborate with other departments, guide the implementation of evidence-based practices, and contribute to the organization's strategic vision for expanding mental health services and impact. In addition, you will:

    • Clinical Leadership: Provide visionary and strategic clinical leadership for the agency, overseeing mental health services, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, best practices, and ethical guidelines.
    • Program Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to assess community needs, design innovative mental health programs, and implement new initiatives to address emerging challenges effectively.

    • Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor a team of mental health professionals, including therapists, counselors, and other clinical staff. Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment to ensure staff well-being and professional development.

    • Quality Assurance: In partnership with other support departments, collaboratively develop and implement clinical protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain high standards of care. Monitor service quality, track outcomes, and employ continuous improvement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of our mental health services.

    • Clinical Supervision: Provide clinical supervision to staff members, ensuring appropriate case management, adherence to treatment plans, and ethical standards. Provide clinical oversite to internship program. Offer guidance on complex cases and promote professional growth among team members.

    • Community Collaboration: Create and maintain strategic partnerships with other mental health organizations, medical facilities, government agencies, and community stakeholders to enhance our services' reach and impact.

    • Budget and Resource Management: Collaborate with the operation and finance department to develop and manage the clinical department's budget. Allocate resources efficiently to support the effective functioning of clinical programs.

    • Compliance and Reporting: Partner to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, licensure requirements, Joint Commission, and reporting obligations. Prepare and submit reports to the senior leadership team, board of trustees, and funding partners as necessary.

    • Training and Education: Organize and deliver training sessions and workshops for clinical staff and other organization members to foster professional development and ensure the adoption of evidence-based practices.

     

    What You Need

    • A doctoral or master's degree in psychology, counseling, psychiatric nursing, social work, or a related mental health field.
    • Preferred Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW).
    • Licensed as a mental health professional in the state of Iowa.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a clinical leadership role, preferably in a mental health nonprofit or related setting.
    • Extensive knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic interventions and best practices in mental health treatment.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and motivating clinical teams.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Familiarity with mental health program development, outcome measurement, and quality improvement processes.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build meaningful community partnerships.
    • Understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to cultural competence.
