    The Director of Clinical Services at Comprehensive Health Services is responsible for providing clinical leadership for a growing outpatient behavioral health practice in Massachusetts. This includes premier clinical service delivery at multiple sites, Stoney Brook Counseling Center, Chelmsford, MA, The Center for Family Development, and Charles River Counseling Center in Needham, MA with effective hiring, supervision, evaluation, retention, and scheduling of clinical personnel. As a key member of the senior management team, this person is tasked to develop, plan, and implement strategies for successful program continuity and growth of services. The Director must be qualified to provide clinical training and guidance to clinical staff and interns, plus competent and compassionate to address patient concerns. Success in this role requires a positive attitude that supports the agency's mission, both from a business and healthcare perspective. An acute awareness of successful business models for mental health services, and the drive to implement with measurable results is necessary. This role requires clinical and staff supervision of the growing pool of clinical personnel. The Clinical Director must be willing and able to build a strong and resilient clinical team within the practice and communicate effectively with other departments that support the agency (e.g. admin, billing, finance, HR). The Director must be a critical-thinking, progressive leader who can solve problems, make effective decisions, and gain the confidence of staff, patients, and the healthcare business owner(s).

    Comprehensive Health Services is part of the CARF-Accredited team of 3 Massachusetts licensed mental health counseling centers.

    A successful candidate must be capable of providing professional leadership in the following areas:

    • Design and implement business strategies to assist the clinic in realizing business goals
    • Oversee the department’s compliance with legal policies, guidelines, and standards.
    • Ensure the department has sufficient and qualified personnel.
    • Organize and run all patient care activities in full compliance and collaboration with administrative operations and programs
    • Ensure all treatment plans and other documentation are current and meeting regulatory standards in addition to state and federal laws
    • Perform annual employee reviews and provide feedback on their performance to help motivate their dedication to professional goals
    • Assist the Practice Manager with the implementation of the agency's fiscal budget

    Job Qualifications

    • Master or higher degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Services, or equivalent, with healthcare management training. Doctorate preferred.
    • Three to five years of progressively responsible management experience of direct services and staff supervision, including expertise in transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team
    • Proven experience and demonstrated success in generating revenues for clinical services using a profitable business model based on accountability, transparency, and integrity
    • Experience and confidence in identifying and implementing evidence-based practices
    • Experience working in crisis settings with individuals and families
    • Ability to work flexible hours
    • Solid organizational skills
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency in EHR
    • Commitment to ensuring patient privacy, in accordance with HIPAA regulations
    • Understanding of the agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and patients in all circumstances
    • Awareness of and sensitivity to multiple cultures across staff and patients
    • Exemplary interpersonal skills, and ability to relate well with persons from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
    • Team builder, connector to referral sources, champion for increasing productivity and facility utilization with a positive attitude
    • Integrity to represent agency across multiple communities of stakeholders – hospitals, school systems, courts, physician offices, other referral sources
    • Competent to provide clinical training to personnel
    • Reliable and consistent with attendance and punctuality to work
    • Ability to serve as a liaison with medical prescriber personnel
    • Knowledgeable in enforcing clinical policies and procedures
    • Congenial demeanor with the ability to communicate with all levels in and outside the agency
    • Ability to maintain solid productive working relationships with all personnel
