  • The Shop Manager serves as a leader to establish and maintain strong customer satisfaction while supervising technicians in the shop. It is important that the Shop Manager can learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Collaborates with the Management team to set department goals and assigns initiatives to drive improvements in key operational metrics
    • Develops and maintains departmental procedures in conjunctions with SWS Equipment Business management process
    • Drives enhancements to Service operations to support continued growth within our core business
    • Plans, organizes, assigns, and coordinates work to achieve production schedules
    • Promote and schedule service requests
    • Go over Equipment for final delivery to customers
    • Participate in long-term planning to create initiatives that further the companys overall goals
    • Assess and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
    • Communicate with senior leadership about shifting company priorities and projects
    • Identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency and revenue
    • Identify opportunities to expand or pivot in order to take advantage of changes in the market
    • Maintains a safe working environment for all personnel
    • Establish shop goals and initiatives to drive improvement in key operational areas
    • Cross-team collaboration to exchange ideas, participate in cross-team learning opportunities and drive development of standard service practices
    • Initiates and recommends appropriate personnel actions regarding new employee selection, promotions, training, and employee counseling
    • Plans, organizes, assigns, and coordinates work to achieve Service and Production schedules
    • Supports and reviews equipment for compliance of safety, reliability, and maintainability
    • 3 years demonstrated leadership in front line supervisory, lead, or equivalent experience, in a maintenance environment (CMRP certification is a plus)
    • Ability to initiate and lead change through continual process improvements
    • Ability to operate and actively collaborate in a team-oriented environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
    • Proven experience in organizational development and resource deployment
    • A successful record of developing effective work teams, demonstrated technical ability and problem-solving skills applied to safety, quality, and process improvements
    • Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
    • Six Sigma certification is a plus

Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.
