• Performance Materials and Technologies

Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) is a global leader in designing and creating high-purity, high-quality performance chemicals and materials and software-based systems to operate complex industrial facilities safely and efficiently.  PMT is developing the technologies of tomorrow, including new applications for the Industrial Internet of Things, advanced software services for smart and connected plants, new refining conversion technologies to make better use of energy resources, and new barriers and films to enhance product performance and safety.  Revenues in 2020 for PMT were $9.4B.

• Honeywell Building Technologies

Honeywell Building Technologies (HBT) includes Honeywell’s Environmental & Energy Solutions (E&ES), Security, and Fire, and Electrification and Building Solutions (Installation and Aftermarket Services) and is known for its domain experience.  Grounded in the Building Space and with over 130 years’ experience, their technology is in millions of buildings worldwide, giving them insight into how facilities of all kinds work, to leverage for the best return.  Revenues in 2020 approached $5.2B.

 

• Safety and Productivity Solutions

Honeywell’s Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS) enhance productivity and safety for more than half a billion workers annually. Productivity solutions include a mix of products, from rugged mobile computers, voice enabled software and workflows, bar code scanners, and printing solutions.  They are a global leader in the industry with a wide portfolio of personal protective equipment, including connected products that track the locations and status of workers and first responders in hazardous locations.  SPS includes Honeywell’s Sensing & Productivity Solutions and Industrial Safety business units, as well as the Intelligrated acquisition.  Revenues in 2020 for SPS were $6.5B.

 

THE POSITION

The VP, Commodity Management (CM) will be an exceptionally capable leader dedicated to delivering significant tangible supply chain management improvements including cost, uninterrupted supply, risk management, & supplier excellence.  In addition, this exceptional leader will ensure material plans and availability are on time to request for their businesses while establishing key performance metrics consistent with the strategic vision of the company.  The VP will be accountable for performance across their portfolio of assigned suppliers.  

 

The successful candidate will be a hands-on, front-line leader with the executive presence to establish immediate credibility with Suppliers, Operations and Functional leaders globally.  This leader will be the productivity czar responsible for driving supplier relationships, negotiations, contract resolution, etc.

 

The role will report directly to the Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for Honeywell Aerospace.  The VP, CM will oversee a global team of centralized and market segment-based leaders.  Primary responsibilities include driving a comprehensive, category focused, global cost reduction effort, increasing supplier payment terms, adding/exiting suppliers, ensuring material availability, establishing performance objectives and implementing core policies, tools and processes to ensure sustainable delivery of products.

 

The successful candidate must demonstrate strong partnership with Business and Manufacturing leadership to drive productivity and world class supplier performance.  The VP must be able to quickly understand the nuances and assess the current team and strategy effectiveness, and able to manage a broad set of commodities.

 

Key Responsibilities

The role has significant direct impact on the financial performance of the businesses through the delivery of parts on time and to the quality needed while balancing against key cash/working capital improvements. Specific responsibilities include:

 Establish a strategy that meets the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan (STRAP) challenges.  

 Partner with procurement leaders, supplier readiness, manufacturing operations, and other leaders to develop and manage the global supply base from a process excellence perspective.

 Deliver business results including productivity, working capital improvement, supplier performance (quality and delivery) and continuity of all direct materials and services 

 Lead and mentor the global commodity management team (~30-50).

 Develop and drive Honeywell's commodity strategy for the assigned suppliers.

 Develop and drive a talent management processes including the development of talent pipelines.

 Drive synergies and strategy around transition projects. 

 Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships to support business needs.

 Effectively consolidate “tail” suppliers with identified strategic and preferred suppliers.

 Partner to identify and develop new/current suppliers globally and in region who have the capacity and capability to meet the cost, quality and service needs of the business.

 Understand competitive trends in key geographic markets for alternate materials or services to ensure Honeywell has "right" competitive supply solutions.

 Ensure policy compliance across the categories.

 Improve Indirect Sourcing effectiveness including temporary labor.

 Use the Honeywell Accelerator as a continuous improvement lever for the sourcing function.
