Compensation Director is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Leads the compensation function and works with senior management to ensure that compensation strategy and programs support the organization's business objectives, meet all legal requirements, and deliver value and equitable pay. Being a Compensation Director develops compensation budget for assigned areas and manages budget after it is approved. Establishes data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Director may be responsible for entire organization or for one or more major segments of a larger organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compensation Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     A Day in Your Life at MKS:

    This role will provide support for existing global compensation programs, along with new opportunities to design and implement the resources for effective harmonization and administration of global compensation programs. Working closely with Regional C&B leaders and HR Business Partners, this role will assess labor market trends, competitive practices and benchmarking to then present findings and recommendations to leadership. This role will require project leadership for owning global compensation processes and resources, involved with M&A integrations and other business initiatives.This is both a strategic and hands-on role for someone who is a strong problem-solver, has exceptional project leadership, agility with detailed financial analysis and an innate continuous improvement mindset.

    *This position can be a hybrid role of some remote (M & F) and onsite days (Tu - Th) each week once initial onboarding is completed. The role must be based within commuting distance to MKS Corporate HQ in Andover, MA.

    You Will Make an Impact By:

    • Design and implement compensation programs, policies and procedures that are compelling, competitive, harmonized, well-communicated, locally compliant and equitable.
    • Global management of the Workday Advanced compensation tools and global process owner for global compensation planning including annual bonus payouts.
    • Key owner for the management and continuous improvement of the MKS job architecture including country salary grades and global pay ranges. Includes ongoing management of global job catalog.
    • Conduct robust and meaningful analysis for management to use in making decisions related to compensation programs.
    • Manage global survey participation and submission, monitor and evaluate benchmark data, trend information and economic projections related to similar jobs in comparable industries and recommend changes as appropriate to maintain a competitive market position and internal equity.
    • Create policies and proactive procedures to ensure global compliance and the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation.
    • Responsible for creating and sustaining effective communications regarding compensation programs and offerings; including compensation guidelines/toolkits and training materials for HRBPs and People managers.
    • Participate in other Compensation, HR and business projects including integrations of M&A, as needed.

    What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity is:

    • Bachelor's degree with Finance, Accounting, Economics and/or Mathematics preferred emphasis
    • Minimum of 4 years of global compensation experience
    • Advanced Excel skills required
    • Demonstrated experience with Workday.
    • Demonstrated experience providing strategic direction, planning, and requirements to execute the design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company's global compensation programs.
    • Critical thinking skills with the ability to research and analyze data drawn from multiple sources to find problems and make effective recommendations and influence decisions
    • Ability to translate the technical nature of compensation for clear stakeholder understanding
