Competitive Pricing Manager assists with the pricing analysis of revenue, market share, capacity, and competitor activity to provide pricing for products, geographies, and market segments aligned with products and sales strategy. Conducts market research and intelligence gathering and recommends pricing targets. Being a Competitive Pricing Manager maintains competitive pricing databases to monitor changes in the marketplace and their impact on new and existing products. Performs analyses to test customer price sensitivity and elasticity. Additionally, Competitive Pricing Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree in business or related discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Competitive Pricing Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Competitive Pricing Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary/Objective: 

    In this role, the Pricing Manager primary function will be responsible for gathering and evaluating data to prepare pricing for a variety of customer requests while analyzing and strategizing and working cross-functionally with other operational partners. In addition, this candidate will also responsible for creating and updating formal processes, procedure and work instruction to help improve effectiveness within the organization. In this role, they will need to be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and provide critical analysis of information. Candidate must possess strong problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.

    • Collaborate with Sales and Leadership to develop and enact competitive pricing strategies for new and existing customers
    • Develop and maintain pricing tools that can be used to quickly respond to changing market needs or trends, and prepare reports that show the potential impact of various pricing strategies, including their effect on margins and costs and how it will impact profitability and sales volumes.
    • Perform detailed costing analysis and develop pricing options to present to Sales team for customer negotiations; use different pricing scenarios to rate shipments and compare net results
    • Conduct proforma analysis 
    • Identifies areas of opportunity to enhance pricing capabilities & competitiveness
    • Address issues and concerns raised by team members relating to pricing suggestions.
    • Assists sales team through provision of prices for vacant units and development of pricing models.
    • Develop visual dashboards that provide insight and track progress against key performance indicators (KPI) that can provide data analysis to track metrics and measure sales.
    • Coordinate and support business performance management and quality improvement capacity building throughout the company by reviewing processes and creating work instructions. Identify, plan and implement initiatives to measure and improve quality, reduce cost, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, hard costs, etc. resulting in significant and measurable business improvement and/or customer satisfaction through sustainable solutions.
    • Interfaces with senior executives, business development and operations. Requests cost inputs from them by sending templates or draft proposals when appropriate. Presents pricing progress in management reviews.
    • Develop business reports and metrics to evaluate, interpret, and provide critical information in support of strategic and operating decisions, looking for opportunities to streamline processes and introduce efficiencies while maintaining key controls.
    • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by the senior management.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or 3-5 years of related financial business planning and analysis experience in logistics field preferred
    • Must have strong analytical and research skills. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as good presentation skills. 
    • Keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a self-managed environment
    • Demonstrated ability to develop standard processes and related documentation 
    • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
