Compliance Director (Banking) manages operations to identify and respond to suspicious activity violating current anti-money laundering (AML) regulations as defined in the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) or other governmental anti-terrorist financing programs. Implements oversight systems, interdiction software, and audit processes to perform daily transaction monitoring and identify suspicious activity patterns. Being a Compliance Director (Banking) monitors activity and ensures adherence to Know your Customer (KYC) protocols and regulatory requirements for required filings and reporting. Leads investigations of suspicious activity to pursue corrective actions and ensure completion of required filings. Additionally, Compliance Director (Banking) maintains extensive knowledge of financial regulations, risk management best practices, and changing fraudulent trends to develop and implement appropriate compliance procedures. Delivers compliance training with up-to-date regulatory information and procedures to develop and guide well-informed staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May have the Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Compliance Director (Banking) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Compliance Director (Banking) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • The Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing and managing the agency’s compliance program as well as overseeing compliance staff. Serves as the agency HIPAA Privacy Officer. Coordinates program and agency compliance with all applicable NYS regulations, NYS and Federal laws. Facilitate the Department’s role as a resource for staff and management. Coordinates the agency’s incident management program and serves as staff to the agency Incident Review Committee. Serves as staff to the agency Compliance committee. Provides compliance and privacy training to program staff, management, affected individuals, and the Board.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conducts Justice Center investigations.
    • Enters Justice Center incidents/investigations into NIMRS and WISR, if applicable, within the required timeframe.
    • Serves as the Equinox Privacy Officer.
    • Administer the Equinox Compliance Plan.
    • Serve as a resource to staff and management for oversight agency regulations as well as NYS and Federal laws and their application to agency programs.
    • Supervise and implement the Equinox Incident Management Plan.
    • Serve as staff to the Equinox Incident Review Committee.
    • Coordinate and as required conduct incident investigations and prepare all required documentation of incidents.
    • Coordinate and serve as staff to the Equinox Compliance Committee.
    • Receive, investigate and respond to complaints.
    • Conducts compliance investigations and provides reports to the CEO.
    • Provide training to new employees in orientation and conduct training for staff on compliance-related issues.
    • Maintains and updates on-line orientation and annual training material in iNavigator.
    • Participates in all site visits from regulatory agency representatives.
    • Coordinates program fiscal audits from the NYS OMIG or the NYS MFCU.
    • Assesses requests and oversees submission of subpoenaed records for lawyers/court.
    • Develops the compliance annual work plan, risk assessment and audit plan.
    • Supervises compliance staff.
    • Special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
    • Strong knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to agency programs
    • Five years of experience in compliance preferred
    • Justice Center experience preferred
    • Two years of supervisory experience required
    • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $90,000.00 per year
