ATF Regulatory Compliance Director
Country Supplier is looking for a highly motivated, personable, knowledgeable, and dedicated professional with extensive experience in firearms regulatory compliance who will lead a team of regulatory compliance specialists overseeing all firearms compliance operations for fifty-five store locations in six states (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Arizona).
The ATF Regulatory Compliance Director will lead the way for their team and partners by instilling a compliance mindset and focus, adherence to all regulations and inspiring a vision of compliance and continuous learning with the team, stores, and company leadership. The ATF Regulatory Compliance Director will model continuous improvement, a calm demeanor and focused leadership style.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead the ATF Compliance team in establishing and maintaining the Country Supplier firearms compliance program for state and federal firearms regulations.
- Develop the ATF Compliance team through identification of goals, setting expectations, providing learning opportunities, and performing effective follow-up with team members.
- Oversee a team of five compliance specialists and the continuous auditing process for all stores.
- Train store personnel on compliance-related topics at new and future store locations.
- Provide direction and support for ongoing training program development for stores working in conjunction with the Training Director for Country Supplier.
- Provide oversight and guidance for ATF inspections at any store location.
- Frequent travel to existing and new store locations to spot check audit results, provide guidance and training and develop relationships with Store Managers, District Managers and Sporting Goods staff.
- Oversee the Gun Store Master and Cloud 4473 programs for the Company; determine guidelines and procedures for company-wide use of the compliance programs.
- Continuous review of the electronic compliance programs used by Country Supplier to ensure they are the best options available for the company and the firearms compliance program.
- Lead, communicate, and collaborate effectively with members of the store management team, company leadership, and Support Center/Home Office teams.
- Review state and federal laws continually to ensure compliance at all store locations.
- Continuously review new and proposed legislation related to firearms in the states Country Supplier operates in.
- Attend industry seminars and other events promoting lawful trade in the firearm industry.
- Extensive written and verbal correspondence with ATF, legal counsel, consultants, and store personnel.
- Review all internal audit reports to ensure store compliance with ATF and state regulations.
- Maintain and expand on all current policies and procedures, guidelines, and procedural manuals with Country Supplier.
- Demonstrated excellence with organization and delegation.
- Other duties as needed.
Skill Set Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge of GCA/NFA/BATFE, and all NICs mandated FFL programs, processes, and procedures and the ability to translate complex regulations into understandable and workable policies/procedures and guidelines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of firearms, best practices for firearms compliance operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ATF Zero Tolerance violations and additional critical level violations that can have an impact on FFL License holders.
- Know and understand the most common firearms compliance violations commonly encountered during firearms audits.
- Ability to engage in/develop and foster positive working and interpersonal relationships with ATF personnel.
- Positive attitude and demonstrated practice of continuous learning and improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a large-scale compliance program and the ability to enhance, improve and expand that program when necessary.
- Able to handle multiple tasks, take decisive action and provide concrete direction and guidance to the compliance team and store personnel.

- Strong understanding and knowledge of Gun Store Master Electronic Compliance Program (or similar programs) 4473 Cloud (digital storage platform) and other required compliance programs.
- Proven ability to network, recruit, interview, train, motivate, grow, and have purpose driven approach to their team.
