Job Summary:
The Quality Control and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the clinical operations comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, standards, and internal policies. This role focuses on maintaining the highest level of quality and accuracy in clinical processes and documentation, managing audits, implementing corrective actions, and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, enforcing, and monitoring quality assurance protocols and clinical standards
- Ensuring clinic practices align with regulatory requirements (OSHA, CMS, etc.)
- Infection Control - overseeing sterilization, disinfection, and sanitation procedures to prevent infections
- Conducting audits and analyzing data on quality, compliance, and infection rates
- Training staff on quality, infection prevention, and compliance
- Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
- Risk Mitigation - identifying and managing clinical and patient safety risks
- Establish and maintain clinical quality metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of clinical operations
- Review and approve clinical protocols, case report forms (CRFs), informed consent documents, and other clinical documents to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and resolution of any compliance-related issues
- Stay current with updates to regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Provide guidance and training to clinical staff regarding regulatory requirements and compliance
- Identify potential risks and compliance gaps in clinical processes and suggest or implement mitigation strategies
- Work closely with clinical teams to develop, implement, and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) for any identified issues
- Ensure that any non-compliance issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner
- Prepare and review compliance-related reports for senior management and regulatory authorities
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance activities, audits, and risk assessments
- Foster a culture of quality and compliance across the organization, promoting open communication and adherence to standards
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts, driving initiatives to enhance clinical quality management and compliance practices
- Stay abreast of industry changes and emerging regulatory trends to ensure the organization is always aligned with current standards
Education/Certifications/Licenses
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Medical Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare quality management or compliance in a medical clinic or healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, Medicare/Medicaid, Joint Commission, etc.) and clinical quality standards
- Experience in conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, and managing quality improvement projects
