We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Quality Assurance Representative to ensure that our systems meet business requirements and operational needs. This role will collaborate closely with Business Operations, Product Owners, and Developers to triage issues, propose enhancements, and execute comprehensive UAT test strategies.

What does a BUSINESS QA REPRESENTATIVE do at GAINSCO?

• Work closely with Business Operations and Alternative Distribution to triage and troubleshoot reported issues.
• Research and verify issues, create user stories, and propose system enhancements based on user feedback to improve process flow and intuitiveness.
• Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test strategies, design test plans, execute test cases, document results, report defects, and provide Go/No-Go recommendations for production implementation.
• Collaborate frequently with Business Operations, Product Owners, and Developers on defect prioritization and resolution.
• Actively participate in project meetings and discussions representing end-user perspectives.

What is required?

Education: 

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required, or equivalent QA/UAT experience.

Experience:

• One to Three or more years of QA/UAT experience.
• Or experience in insurance carrier operations.
• Experience in the P&C industry, particularly Personal Auto, is a plus.
• Experience creating User Stories, test cases, and bugs.
• Experience creating reports and testing tools with Power BI.
• Experience utilizing software quality assurance principles and practices including test planning, strategy, and design.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Dev Ops.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Experience working for an independent insurance agency is beneficial.

• Ability to use SQL Server for data review.

• Troubleshoot and escalate project issues, risks, and mitigation appropriately.
• Leverage critical thinking, problem-solving, and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and objectives.
• Focus on details while maintaining the “big picture” view.
• Effectively cope with stressful situations, changing priorities, aggressive timelines
• Adapt to rapidly changing business environment and business needs.
• Strong business and mental acuity with excellent process orientation and critical thinking skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
• Ability to occasionally handle UAT and Production validations outside of business hours and over weekends.
