Credit Union MANAGER
UNITE CREDIT UNION, Cedar Falls, Iowa
DEFINITION:
The Operation Manager of the UNITE Credit Union (Credit Union) is responsible for the successful operation of the Credit Union and is accountable to its Board of Directors (Board). The Manager will ensure that members are provided with excellent services and will achieve maximum cost effectiveness within Board approved budgets.

WORK EXAMPLES:
Develops and maintains positive relationships with Credit Union members, regulatory agencies, the Board, and staff. Strives to achieve the Goals/ Objectives and related Incentives identified in the Manager's Work Agreement. Works with the Board in planning the Credit Union's Annual Meeting and other special events.
Information to Board of Directors
Provides the Board with information in an accurate, complete and timely manner so that the Board can make strategic decisions and accurate assessments of the success of the Credit Union's operations. Prepares and submits the Credit Union's annual budget for Board's approval and adoption. Administers the Credit Union's budget in accordance with the Board's intent.
Recruitment of staff
Recruits, selects, and trains a member service-oriented staff. Ensures that all staff are fully trained in their functional areas of responsibility. Conducts timely performance evaluations of the Credit Union's staff. Provides motivational leadership for the staff. Supports staff in their professional growth and development.
Financial Practices
Ensures the financial safety and soundness of the Credit Union by implementing controls to eliminate unnecessary expenses, adhering to the established lending policy, planning for business continuity, complying with federal and state regulatory agencies, and implementing appropriate security measures to eliminate loss by theft, fraud and/or vandalism.
Community Engagement
Actively participate in local Chambers of Commerce, business events, festivals, civic clubs, recruitment fairs, and open houses. Also, lead initiatives for providing local scholarships and sponsoring visible community events and activities. Attend almost all credit union meetings such as those sponsored by ICUL, other credit unions in the state, and the annual ICUL convention.
Communication Practices
Ensures that external and internal communications are prepared in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures that oral and written communications are clear and concise and that they possess the clarity of intent and content.
Represents the Credit Union at League, Division and at other meetings or conferences approved by the Board. Performs other duties as apparent or assigned by the Board of Directors.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of the principles, theories, techniques, and trends required in the management of a Credit Union including resource management, labor relations, objective and plan development, coordination, communication, evaluation, marketing, and public relations.
Ability to read and interpret complex federal and state laws, rules, regulations and procedures in order to manage a Credit Union's operation.
Ability to present managerial, technical, and business-related material in writing in a manner that will persuade, interpret, and inform a wide variety of groups and persons.
Ability to develop and foster teamwork and motivate a staff. Encourages and facilitates cooperation, pride, trust, and group identity. Ability to foster commitment and team spirit.
Aligns behavior with the needs, priorities and goals of a Credit Union. Displays high standards of ethical conduct. Exhibits honesty and integrity.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
BS or BA in accounting, finance, management, or business administration desired, but depth and breadth of credit union knowledge and experience may be considered instead of a degree.
Demonstrates knowledge of credit union laws and regulations.
Has a documented record of effective supervisory skills.
Expertise in lending and collections, member service, and general accounting.
Five years in management in the financial services industry.
Salary
Commensurate with experience and regional wages in like institutions.
Process

Work will be on site only. No remote work
