Summary/Objective
At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, the primary focus of the Loan Servicing Clerk is to improve the financial well-being of our members. Assist in all phases of loan processing with the exception of approving or denying an application. Assist in processing insurance related documents and reports as they pertain to loan area. This is accomplished through:

Essential Functions

- Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of credit union philosophy, services and policies as well as the current knowledge and understanding of federal and state laws and regulations as they pertain to your area of responsibility. Ensuring the policies and procedures are followed and in compliance daily. Gather and review loans disbursed by Branches ensuring that each loan is processed accurately by making sure each one is properly documented, closed, disbursed, coordinated and filed. Tracking and collecting any missing loan related documents. Maintain orderly files on each account with attention to complete and accurate detailing of all correspondence, documents, or problems along with purging loan files and loans pending by destroying out-of-date or unnecessary loan documents within compliance.
- Servicing: Assist with the process of Members with the process of loan applications while always ensuring completeness and accuracy of information as provided. Gather background information on loan applicants. Assist in answering phones for loan area from Members and Credit Union Staff daily. Prepare forms, form letters, reports and correspondence for lending purposes.
- Perform: Assist in resolution of errors or problems relating to loans or loan products. Maintaining and tracking Suspense file for titles and other missing loan documents. Processing of new loan report and assisting when needed for daily paid loan reports. Completing and processing approved extension agreements while maintaining a trackable spreadsheet. Assist with maintaining Konstant Kash (line of credit) portfolio including but not limited to renewal notifications, updates, processing new lines, rescissions and limit letters. Prepare and process MasterCard Credit Card payment balancing reports ensuring accurate application of members payments. Process any MasterCard maintenance on behalf on the Branches. Funding MasterCard Credit Card Applications and verifying documents received for funding are accurate and done correctly. Being a point of contact for Branches/Staff needing assistance in all areas of the Loan Department. Assisting in reviewing indirect loan approvals over 45 days old and purge any that are not disbursed. Assisting in daily filing of loan documents including titles, indirect lending documents, and other loan documents as needed.
- Security and Participation: Ensure that all information and transactions regarding members, coworkers, and other credit union business are kept confidential. Participating in continuing education as requested and participating in meetings within your Department as required. Maintaining ongoing communication with your supervisor informing him/her of all pertinent problems, irregularities, new developments, changes, and other important information within area of responsibility. Must cooperate with other personnel to ensure a team effort and prompt member service. Always promoting and maintain a positive image of the Credit Union and a professional, courteous attitude toward coworkers, members, management, and the community. Maintaining the security of your work area and the department keeping it organized and neat in appearance and always enforcing maximum security over valuables and documents on hand according to policies and procedures. Protect and respect Credit Union property, equipment and supplies at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend considerable time sitting at a desk, complete work using a computer, regularly answer phone calls, and interact with employees at all levels of the organization. The employee will occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal hours of work and days for R.I.A. Federal Credit Union are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with rotating Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Hours for this position reflect administrative attendance but may vary based on job related requirements.
Travel
Less than 10% travel.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent, required.
- Experience: One or more years previous experience in lending process and/or clerical management, preferred.
