Credit Underwriter jobs in Waco, TX

PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:

Provide monitoring and direct support services for students who are at risk of failure due to credit recovery issues and poor academic performance often acerbated by high absenteeism, dropout, pregnancy, limited English proficiency and/or gang related activity. Provide supervision and support to Success Academy Teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree Preferred
Valid Texas Certificate with required certification along with ESL endorsement

Valid Texas Driver’s License

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to interpret data

Ability to work with at-risk students

Knowledge of credit recovery programs and options, such as PLATO

Ability to maintain documentation of services provided to students

Ability to efficiently use Microsoft technology applications (word, excel, publisher, etc.)

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of compulsory attendance laws and truancy

Bilingual Preferred

Experience:

With at-risk students

Secondary campus leadership a plus
Three years’ experience as a classroom teacher, secondary preferred
