Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     PRIMARY FUNCTION: To educate all students substantially and effectively by:

    Designing and Planning Instruction Collaborating with Colleagues/Parents/Others
    Creating and Maintaining Learning Climate Engaging in Professional Development
    Implementing and Managing Instruction Demonstrating Implementation of Technology
    Providing Instructional Support for Teachers and Principals
    Creating and Providing District-Wide Professional Development Opportunities
    Analyzing Student Data and Implementing Effective Curriculum and Instructional Practices

    BASIC REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Implements all rules and regulations, policies and administrative guidelines as adopted by the Board of Education and the School SBDM Council.
    • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation, pertaining to teacher and students.
    • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, helps teachers to establish clear objectives and assessments for all lessons, units, and communicate these objectives to students.
    • Assesses the effectiveness of curriculum and teaching strategies for student achievement.
    • Participates in/leads Professional Learning Communities at the school and/or district level.
    • May provide training and support to teachers and administrators in one or more schools, grade levels, or content areas.
    • Arranges or provides school-level and/or district-wide professional development opportunities.
    • Collaborates with Directors of Instruction to review instructional materials for district-wide and/or school-level implementation.
    • Facilitate teachers’ understanding and implementation of Common Core Standards.
    • Observes teachers in classroom setting and provides non-evaluative feedback to teachers regarding instructional practices.
    • Fosters collaboration among teachers.
    • Assists teachers in analyzing student data and work to develop increasingly effective teaching methods that impact student achievement.
    • Prepares for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
    • Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
    • Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
    • Strives to improve professional competence and collaboration with colleagues and communities.
    • Attends staff meetings, serves on staff committees, and performs duties prescribed by the principal and by Board of Education and School SBDM Policies.
    • Promotes positive public relations for the school’s programs and activities.
    • Contacts the principal or the designated representative as soon as possible when the teacher must be absent from school.
    • Remains at school during the entire school day unless excused by the principal or the designated representative.
    • Maintains a professional appearance as an example for students.
    • Incorporates the use of technology in daily tasks.
    • Maintains regular attendance.
    • Adheres to the Professional Code of Ethics

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Valid State Teaching Certificate for Specific Subject Area and/or Grade Level
    • Appropriate Consultant License issued by EPSB
