The Curriculum Developer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Reports to:  Associate Supt for C&I                                                            Pay Grade: Admin Pay 1

     

    Dept./School: Instructional Materials                                                         Days: 227

     

    Supervises: Department of four and occasional part-time employees

     

    Primary Purpose: Effectively supervise and reconcile the state and local instructional materials program.  This includes managing and utilizing EMAT, providing reports of funds used, placing orders, distributing instructional materials to campuses and supervising warehouse personnel. 

     

    Qualifications:

     

    Education/Certification:

    • High School Diploma
    • College Degree (preferred)

     

    Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Accounting experience
    • Inventory Procedures experience
    • Skills in managing staff & training of staff.

     

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Coordinate the adoption, ordering, receipt and distribution of all state and locally adopted instructional materials for use in District classrooms as directed by Associate Superintendent
    • Train all campus instructional material managers on the procedure to acquire distribute, account for and maintain an adequate supply of instructional materials for each campus
    • Maintain all records of activity including textbook distribution to and transfer from all schools within the District
    • Complete and reconcile an annual physical inventory of all instructional materials
    • Collect money from all campuses for lost and/or damaged instruction materials
    • Prepare and remit reports as necessary
    • Occasionally lifting 50 pounds
    • Perform any and all other job responsibilities

     Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with appropriate District personnel to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the state and local adopted instructional materials program.

    Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
