Database Administrator with Security Clearance - Now Hiring

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Database Administrator. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
    * Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
    * Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases.
    * Reviews database design and integration of systems.
    * Provides backup recover and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
    * Monitors transition activity and utilization.
    * Train other departments for overlap support and any cross-department end-user training.
    * Perform root cause analysis and resolve faults and errors in applications.
    * Develop recommendations for enhancing approaches for software support services.
    * Develop security baselines and standards for AWS and on-prem resources, hardening and strengthening security to exceed the latest best practices.
    * Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures.
    * Update works instruction documentation and standard operating procedures.
    * Collaborate with vendors in the research, development, and implementation of various technologies.
    * Troubleshoot and resolve daily support tickets including end-user support via phone, email, and remote control.
    * Ensuring databases are compliant with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives and guidelines, including Defense Information System Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) bulletins. * This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
    * Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship. Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Bachelor's Degree (typically Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technologies, etc.) and 3 years relevant work experience or a Master's Degree and 1 years of relevant work experience.
    * Related experience in Database Administration includes Database Design, Configuration, Maintenance, Patching, and Upgrades.
    * The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date or must obtain such within 6 months of being hired.
    * This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
    * Communicate effectively with internal and external resources necessary to successfully complete assignments or projects.
    * Proactively managing and prioritizing multiple related projects, assignments, timelines, milestones, and follow-up communications
    * Collaborating with vendors in the research, development, and implementation of server technologies
    * Experience with Virtual Desktops
    * Experience with Operating systems - Windows Server 2016, 2019, & RedHat Linux
    * Utilize DISA STIG checklists to assess and document compliance. Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills * Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef and DevOps practices
    * Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    * Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts
    * User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    * Superb customer service skills
    * Fast, aggressive learner
    * AWS Cloud Certification is a preferred.
    * Microsoft/Oracle Certifications preferred.
